Offered is an appealing Apollo type (P M TR XVII COS IIII P P) silver Denarius struck at Rome in 214AD under the reign of Caracalla, Sear#6831, RIC#238A, BMCRE#448, RSC#242. This coin retains a particularly fine and well-struck ‘aged’ portrait, surrounded by inscription ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM. Other than a small (contemporary) flan chip on the reverse, a strong example, and most appealing.
