Offered is a lovely silver Denarius struck at Rome under the reign of Emperor Elagabalus in 221-22AD, Sear#7518, RIC#88, BCMRE#212, RSC#61. This piece depicts the emperor in priestly robes, sacrificing over altar with sacrificial bull, surrounded by the inscription INVICTVS SACERDOS AVG, star in left field. This example in excellent condition, with some luster, a good portrait, and an excellent reverse for the type.
