Offered is a silver ‘Vota Publica’ type Denarius, struck in 203-08AD at Rome in the name of Geta as Caesar, RICIV#57. This piece features the ever-popular ‘young’ portrait of Geta (he would age quite suddenly on his coins after becoming Augustus), surrounded by the inscription P SEPTIMVS GETA CAES. This example well-struck and retaining good detail, further benefitting from an ‘old’ medium grey patina. The reverse of this coin in particular is very strong for the issue.
