Offered is a lovely Isis-type (SAECVLI FLICITAS) silver Denarius of Julia Domna (wife of Septimus Severus), struck at Rome in 201AD, Sear#6606, RIC#577, RSC#174, BMCRE#166. A distinctly Egyptian-themed type, this piece displays Isis with her foot on a prow, and Horus at her breast - a testament to how important the province was to the Empire. Struck on an even planchet, this piece retains an excellent obverse portrait despite some slight weakness of strike to the reverse. An interesting piece.
