Offered is a most handsome Felicitas-type (SAECVLI FELICITAS) silver Denarius of Julia Maesa (Severan matriarch), struck at Rome in 220-22AD, Sear#7757, RIC#271, RSC#45, BMCRE#79. This piece above average for the type, despite a minor, stable flan crack. A very nice example the type, especially as it is of the scarcer ‘large, crude star’ in exergue variety.
