Offered is a pleasing example of a billon Antoninianus issued under the reign of Severina (wife of Aurelian), dating from 275 AD, RIC#13, SEAR#11706. This example, minted in Rome, displays Concordia Militum standing, holding standard in each hand, surrounded by the inscription CONCORDIAE MILITVM. The obverse features a diademed and draped bust os Severina, surrounded by the inscription SEVERINA AVG. This piece bears the mint mark XXI, as well as officina mark S.
Retaining decent detail, this piece has developed a most attractive, soft green patina.
