Offered is a scarce 24mm provincial bronze issued at Nicopolis Ad Istrum (Moesia Inferior) in 218-22AD under the reign of Elagabalus, BMC#72. The coin features an eagle with reath, surrounded by inscription ΝΙΚΟΠΟΛΙΤΩΝ ΠPOC ICT reverse, along with a laureate portrait surrounded by inscription AVP ANTΩNЄINOC obverse. As is typical of coins of this type, this example bears a rich, thick green patina, and indeed considerable eye-appeal. A great coin in-hand.
