Bulova Ambassador 23j Men's Wristwatch
Offered is a fantastic mid-1970s Bulova Ambassador equipped with 23-jewel automatic movement and day / date functions. As Bulova’s top-of-the line, this piece really embodies the very best of what made Bulova a dominant player in the Swiss watch industry for the best part of half a century.
The 36mm gold plated screwback case is in fairly typical condition for a piece of this age, displaying some minor plate loss, but otherwise attractive - of note is the subtle oval shape, perhaps a nod the the Omega Dynamic, which lends a lovely vintage flair. The crystal shows some abrasion, but remains original, with the brushed stainless ‘burst’ dial being in immaculate condition. The extremely well-finished automatic movement zips freely and works perfectly. Crown is a signed original.
In all, this refined timepiece is certainly one for the connoisseur - a watch of substance and subtle refinement rather than flash. Although decidedly a vintage timepiece, this Bulova remains an understated testament to the timelessness of fine mechanical Swiss watchmaking.
