Offered is a scarce sterling silver 1/- coin issued in 1679 under the reign of Charles II, KM#427.1. When encountered, Shillings from this reign tend to be found in low grade and damaged. Although this piece bears a severe obverse scratch and an old cleaning, it otherwise retains above average detail. In all, would make a good affordable type coin to fill a challenging gap.
