Offered is a charming silver hammered 3 Pence coin issued under the reign of Elizabeth I, mint mark Pheon. The coin itself, although fully identifiable and nicely toned, is fairly typical for a hammered minor of this period. What makes this piece of particular interest is an original collector's disc, stating that it was purchased in an antique shop in Ripon for 6d in 1951. All in all, a fascinating coin with an interesting history.
