George V 1911 Proof Shilling - NGC PF64

Offered is a stunning proof 1911 silver Shilling, issued in the first year of the reign of King George V, KM#816. Only a little over 6000 proofs were struck in the Coronation year, and this one bears an unbelievably crisp strike, as well as frosty devices and mirrored fields. Other than the superb state of preservation, this piece has developed a glorious rainbow tone over the years. In all, the old holder NGC PF-64 designation seems most conservative indeed - very few 1911s will present this degree of eye-appeal.
