Hooper Struve Encased 1927 Farthing

Offered is an interesting encased Farthing, with Hooper Struve’s mineral waters advertizing ring. Hooper and Struve merged in the 1890s to form their spa and mineral water firm, contracting J R Gaunt to manufacture these pieces in the mid-late 1930s. The aluminum ring is a bit battered (consistent with a pocket piece), but the farthing itself has fared considerably better, even bearing some hints of luster between the letters of the obverse inscription.
