Offered is a most attractive 1898 silver 31mm medal commemorating Vasco Da Gama’s explorations in India. Of fine manufacture, this scarce piece is as struck, and attractively as well as lightly toned. A fascinating piece which is worthy of further research, as we have only been able to locate a piece in bronze which shares the obverse of this item, but none in silver, or paired with its reverse.
