Offered is a scarce 22mm 1667 Farthing token, being the only 17th century token issued by the Constables (governors) of the royal castle actually depicted on the token, Dickinson#228, Boyne#182, BW#229. Boldly struck is the Tun, or beer cask on the obverse, which indeed is very appealing for the type. The reverse features the ‘wide date’ type, and is graced (as is the obverse), with a lovely brass and chocolate patina. A very nice example with both local and brewenalia interest.
