Offered is a lovely 1836 sterling 4 Pence, issued under the reign of King William IV, being of the ‘homeland’ type, but largely destined for circulation in British Guiana, KM#723. This example is of the scarcer ‘near colon’ variety, with it appearing nearer the ‘G’ of the obverse inscription. Overall grade is fantastic for this type, and particularly so for this variety, with bold detail and good eye-appeal despite some evidence of a historic cleaning on the obverse. A great little coin.
