This ‘second shield’ example retains solid details, and indeed is certified by NGC in the Fine range - considering the common practice of boiling coins for sanitary reasons in this period (the treatment to which we suspect this piece has been subjected), the ‘details’ designation must be taken with a pinch of salt, in our opinion. A handsome coin overall, and a lovely patina.
