Ceylon (Sri Lanka) 1815 Half Stiver
Offered is a charming 1/2 Stiver coin issued in 1815 in Ceylon, KM#80. Although produced in reasonable quantities, these small denominations did not prove popular in commerce, and as such, many were melted. As a result, today, the 1/2 is a much scarcer coin than its 1 and 2 Stiver counterparts, especially in as wholesome overall condition as this example.
With an even, ebony tone, and great detail, this would make an excellent type coin. A must have for Commonwealth collectors, and elephant lovers alike!
