Offered is an unusual Halfpenny token, issued in the period 1798-1800 by William Waterhouse - noted Publican and mail coach operator, Withers#840, Davis#64. Mr Waterhouse was the proprietor of the ‘Swan With Two Necks’ coaching inn in Lad Lane (London), from where he operated the busiest of several mail coach routes under his ownership. This piece is characterized by great overall detail, despite a mis-matched patina. In all, a scarce and interesting token.
