Offered is an unusual ca 1864-66 copper 26mm token, issued by the Imperial Tobacco Factory at Sedlec, or Sedletz (near Kutna Hora) in what is today the Czech Republic, Neum#498. This piece represented half a day’s work, being issued as part of a worker’s compensation, and would have been valid in the company shop - a fairly common practice in renumeration at the time. An even, ebony patina and good detail lend considerable eye-appeal to this interesting piece.
