Offered is a charming 24mm, 1 Franc token issued by the Kursaal Francaise in Tangiers around 1905, Gadoury#346. This exotic piece emanated from the lavish hotel / dance hall / cinema / casino / cabaret / cafe / shops constructed by Lord Bute’s Compania Rentistica, and operated until gambling was banned in the international zone in the late 1930s. The token itself is in very solid condition, and a great piece of ‘untamed’ turn-of-the-century Tangiers.
