France 1389-1405 Silver Blanc Guenar - Troyes

€50.00

Offered is a lovely 26mm silver ‘Blanc’ Guenar, struck at Troyes (dot under 14th letter of reverse inscription) in 1389-1405 under the reign of Charles VI, as part of the second coinage for this type, DYR#377, LP#381. An attractive example on a unclipped, regular flan, this piece retains a lovely gunmetal patina despite some typical weakness of strike on the obverse. A scarce and pleasing branch-mint hammered silver.
