France (Saône-et-Loire) ca. 1918 Cantine de Vernaz Military Token

€15.00

Offered is an interesting 50 Centime token, issued by the Cantine de Vernaz, which serviced the French 134th Infantry Regiment. The Cantine had both stationary kitchens and a mobile unit, and appears to have existed right up until 1940. The 134th saw extensive action in both World Wars, serving on both the Western and Eastern Fronts in the former. This brass token, although pierced and circulated, remains a fascinating piece of both numismatic and military history alike!
