Offered is an unusual ½ Rupee, issued for use in Italian Somaliland in 1913 under the reign of Vittorio Emanuele III, KM#5, Montenegro#451, Gigante#11. This lovely, original example displays only light wear, as well as a somewhat irridescent grey patina which gradiates to ochre, violet and auburn hues. A very nice example of a scarce type.
