Offered is a pair of Essai (or trial) strike Lebanese 5 and 10 Piastre coins, produced by the Monnaie de Paris in 1972, KM#E11-12, as KM#25.2, 26. This duo features the ever-popular Lebanese Cedar design, and indeed are as the circulation issues except for the addition of ‘ESSAI’ to the reverse. Both are brilliant and as struck, being housed in their original, sealed plastic sachets. When graded by TPG services, these tend to sell for substantially more than our current offer price. A fantastic pair with considerable crossover interest.
