Offered is a chunky, 43mm countermarked 2 Macutas (host coin 1763), issued in 1837 under the reign of Maria II, KM#51.1. The countermark served to double the nominal value of the coin, with this example displaying a full and bold mark. The host coin remains well above average for this series, retaining a pleasing chocolate patina. A very satisfying piece in hand.
