Offered is a lovely example of the ever-popular Civil War-era ‘Tradesmens Token / American Copper’ Cent token, issued in the period 1861-64, FULD#434/202a. These copper tokens were struck by William H Bridgens of 189 William Street, NYC, NY, and found fairly wide acceptance in the City, at a time when the bustling economy was chronically short of small change. This very tidy example retaining excellent surfaces and a lovely chocolate patina.
