Offered is an interesting Seattle (King County), WA 2.5c token issued by Tom’s Pool hall in the 1920s, Erickson#TC-35448. This brass token is one of many issued by private businesses which served to alleviate a chronic shortage of coin in the American West & Midwest which was exacerbated by the economic boom of the post-WWI years. The area has much changed since the photo here included was taken, and indeed, it would seem that the pool hall was gone by 1954 (having been replaced by a Rosie’s Diner). An interesting piece of social and numismatic history.
