Roman Empire - AE3 of Licinius II, 320AD
Offered is a lovely example of a bronze AE3 of Licinius II (the younger), dating from 320 AD, RIC#98. This example, minted in Siscia, displays two victories, advancing and holding shield, surrounded by the inscription VICTORIAELAETAEPRINCPERP. On the obverse is a cuirassed bust of Licinius, surrounded by the inscription LICINIVSIVNNOBCAES.
Retaining great detail, this piece has developed a most attractive, deep emerald patina. A lovely example of a type not usually found this nice.
