Offered is an ever-desirable French 20 Franc gold coin issued under the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte, KM#695.1. This type, long overlooked by collectors of France (and the Emperor himself), has come into its own in recent years, as the traditional 40 Franc pieces become more and more inaccessible to the average collector.
With an AGW of .1867oz, and a fineness of .900AU, this unusually low mintage date for the Paris mint (688 252, according to Schlumberger) would make an excellent addition to a date run, or serve as a type coin with very solid detail. All in all, a fascinating piece of both French and European history!
