Offered is a brass Dupondius, struck at Rome, and issued in 92-94AD under the reign of Domitian, RIC#406, MC#468. The obverse depicts the Emperor’s radiate bust, surrounded by inscription ‘IMPCAESDOMITAVGGERMCOSXVICENSPERPP.’ The reverse features Virtus standing right, holding spear and parazonium, surrounded by inscription ‘VIRTVTIAVGVSTI.’

Although worn, this piece remains fully identifiable, and retains an attractive obverse. A good, affordable addition to a 12 Caesars portrait collection.
