Offered is a large brass Dupondius issued under Vespasian (r.69-79), Rome mint, Sear#2346, RIC#555. The reverse of this piece depicts Felicitas standing, holding a caduceus and cornucopia, inscription ‘FELICITAS PVBLICA’ surrounding. The obverse of this piece depicts the laureate bust of the Emperor, surrounded by inscription ‘IMP CAES VESP AVG PMTP COS IIII SENS.’

Although the coin does exhibit overall porosity, much good detail remains. Although the Dupondius is never as popular as it’s Sestertius counterpart, this piece feels great in hand, making it a great opportunity to obtain a large format example specimen of a popular reign.
