Offered is a scarce 28mm copper As minted in Rome, and issued under the reign of Emperor Hadrian in 121AD, SEAR#3687. This type depicts Pietas standing and facing, with both hands raised in prayer, altar at foot, surrounded by the inscription PONT MAX TR POT COS III. Although heavily damaged on the reverse, this piece would make an excellent portrait coin owing the scarcity of this particular bust, as well as the attractive patina.
