Hungary (Kremnitz) 1698 KB Silver Thaler
Offered is an extremely handsome and substantial full Thaler (46mm, 29g), struck at Kremnitz (today Slovakia), and issued in 1698 for use in the Kingdom of Hungary under Leopold I, KM#214.8, Dav#3264. Although it must be noted that this example is mounted, it remains an exceedingly attractive example for the type, displaying a full strike, lovely detail, a regular flan, as well as a superb old tone. As such, this piece represents pretty much all that can be asked for in an example of the series, and here offered at a very affordable level. A superb piece of Enlightenment period die sinking, and a lovely, chunky European silver.
