Offered is a very scarce 1800 Sekularfesten medal, of an unapproved design, sunk by V Bauert, and struck at Altona, B#19 (silvered). This 41mm, 25g bronze example features superb artistry on both obverse and reverse, and remains most attractive despite a historic cleaning. We have only been able to locate 2 appearances of this type over the past 2 decades or so - a testament to just how tough a medal this is. A very handsome piece which feels good in hand.
