Poland 1657 IT 6 Groszy (Szostak) - Krakow Mint
Offered is a silver 6gr, or ‘Szostak,’ minted at Krakow, and bearing the ‘Ox Head’ Podskarbich mark, Kop#1613 (R1). Although the reverse of this piece is actually strong for this type, the piece suffers the inevitable improper alloy mix, and resulting impurity seepage, meaning that the obverse is quite poor. As such, this would make a great piece for the mint / date-run collector, economically filling a challenging year / mint combination. John II Casimir Vasa (Jan II Kazimierz Waza)
