Giroxa (Gruen) 1970s Men's 25j Automatic Wristwatch
Offered is a lovely 1970s Giroxa 25 jewel automatic wristwatch with date function, in fact being a re-branded, well-finished Gruen. Giroxa was a maker which purchased surpluses from various Swiss watchmakers through the 1950s-70s, with this being no exception. Although the ETA movement is unsigned, unusually, the screw-down case back retains a ‘Gruen Guild’ inscription.
The 34mm case is in excellent condition, displaying no plate loss, with the brushed dial and original crystal being virtually NOS. The movement is running and accurate, with the rotor spinning seamlessly. Supplied on a brand new brown leather band. In all, a fantastic, if somewhat odd piece of Swiss watchmaking history.
